A little research (which obviously was not done) would show a somewhat different picture of the individual. But, then, Minni has never been too precise on facts.

minreader is trying her old tired bit of saying President Obama is a Muslim and is soft on Muslims. Nothing more, nothing less.
" he and his group also have a history of questionable positions," So What? So do Republicans!
Mean while WE THE PEOPLE can't visit OUR HOUSE...now that's some kinda sad
Muslim scholar tied to pro-Hamas group, radical cleric visits White House.
A Muslim scholar whose group supports Hamas, who has urged the U.N. to criminalize blasphemy and who is the deputy of an Egyptian cleric banned from the U.S. over his radical statements was able to secure a visit at the White House earlier this month.
A report from The Investigative Project on Terrorism uncovered a statement on the website of Sheikh Abdullah Bin Bayyah claiming he met June 13 with Obama administration officials in Washington.
Bin Bayyah is vice president of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, a group founded by Egyptian cleric Yusuf Qaradawi -- a Muslim Brotherhood leader who has called for the death of Jews and Americans and himself is banned from visiting the U.S. While Bin Bayyah secured a visit, he and his group also have a history of questionable positions, IPT reports.
Seems Snowden is hanging in a Russian lounge waiting...
Seems all of America is WAITING for the right to prove their case on IRS,Benghazi,NSA policy origin and you name it...
How can a political party with that kind of leadership sleep at night knowing that tomorrow they must engage in controversy instead of legislating...Incredible!
New Supreme Court ruling undermines 1965 legislation so I guess regressive is a good fit!
This will surely make alot of people happy and will surely divide America!
The goal of the Tea Party IS to divide America...This is for certain!

"Yes, because "killing the messenger"
Excuse me Matt...I think killing the propogandist is a more accurate description!
What didn't make it into hopeless's post was the Secret Service pleaded with Obama not to put on his Fu Man Chu disguise, make a flight reservation under coach and go looking for Snowden with compass and a swiss army knife...Would it made you happy if he did?

Really a 3 part question in todays poll...
First, Ronnie may have gotten Gorbachev to tear down the wall but on the same token, forced a number of other countries to put more of them up...The Cold War will be celebrating it's 75th Anniversary in a couple of more years and I do believe it's better than the real one...Separating the domestic terrorists from the foreign ones are the real issue and perhaps that is where a real honest debate on immigration needs to take place...
Snowden is certainly NOT a hero & certainly not what I consider a patriot for the simple fact when the world is engaged in this kind of activity would he want to implicate the US whatsoever?
Lastly, it might be a fair assumption that every political individual in every part of the world has spent their entire life within a cold war mindset...It will take a new breed of politicians who wish to have a new type of govt. that truly appreciates the individual for anything to change.
Yes, because "killing the messenger" is a totally legitimate and valid method by which one should deal with bad or uncomfortable news.

I'm till working on that "I'm ashed of America" brilliance thingie on your part?
The problem with spying on Americans is that this is just another freedom that is slowly being taken away. Whether it be Obama or Bush, each president has slowly taken away the right of Americans in the name of "Terror".
The main argument is that "I have nothing to hide so why does it matter?"
It matters because by the time you realize the freedoms you have are gone, you have no way of taking it back. Soon you will become the USSR, China America goes into countries saying "People deserve Freedom" Yet the USA is taking away everything Soldiers fought for.

'Insider threat'? Program urging federal workers to tattle on each other raises concerns.
Amid the furor in Washington over government leaks and media exposés, a little-known executive order signed by President Obama in October of 2011 could fuel the paranoia.
It requires government agencies to "implement an insider threat detection and prevention program" -- in effect, ordering all government employees, regardless of security clearances or the sensitivity of their work, to police fellow workers as potential security threats, and report the suspicious behavior to superiors.
Asked Monday about the executive order, as first reported by McClatchy Newspapers, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said: "I confess I didn't see the story. I'll have to take the question."
Let us look at this. The US gov is guilty of spying on Americans and the truth wills out, speaks to power, and the messenger is about to get shot. So cool.
Is it better to protect the person who found wrong doing and told all about it or just kept his mouth shut and let the criminality continue?
Get a clue here.
Let me see: A guy goes and gets a job with a company that has access to "secret" materials from the US. His purpose was to access that information and release classified material deemed secret that may compromise US security. Hmmm, he is a hero? Really!! So, should we bring back Julius and Ethel Rosenberg and clarify if they were whistleblowers. So, do you experts believe that the country is more at risk for terrorist attacks because of his behavior or less at risk? Now he is trying to hide with countries considered to be at odds with the US. Not a hero but a traitor.
