From Politico 5-15-13

"President Obama "obviously likes giving speeches more than he does running the executive branch," Chris Matthews said tonight.

"Yes, you read that right: The MSNBC host who in 2008 felt a "thrill going up my leg" after hearing Obama speak has grown disenchanted. Tonight's episode of Hardball saw Matthews delivering a rare, unforgiving grilling of the president as severe as anything that might appear on Fox News."

Uh oh, Veritas, that looks like a media person's opinion. Is that news?

Veritas, you don't think papers should editorialize? At all?

Then tell that to all the liberal papers too, in triplicate.

That was free too.

Veritas: "Opinions are news?"

OK, let's see if I can connect some dots for someone.

editorial (noun)

1. An article in a publication expressing the opinion of its editors or publishers.

2. A commentary on television or radio expressing the opinion of the station or network.

Elementary, Watson.

This one is free: if you don't like the opinion offered up, don't read it.

You know what else is free? Your right to opine on the MDN opposing any and all editorials.

Ain't it a beautiful thing?

You go, Ron. Well, with your medical disability, you are forgiven for your non-factual rants... Not really. First you make advances to me and then you start calling others sweetheart. I don't understand you fickle nature... You sure that you don't have some problems from the agent orange thingy...??

Oh, sorry for not clarifying the last post. Dusty, it was not directed at you... I don't want you to claim everything on the board. It was billdoesntevernevereverneverevergetit.

"NOPE!!!! Not this ignoramus,." Well, certainly this explanation of yourself needs no fact check. I am so glad you could finally admit what your really are. We already knew it but were waiting for you to finally admit it. Congrats.

I realize that dusty is just not all there, probably as an agent orange casualty. But, I think billwillnevereverevergetit must have some type of chemical imbalance that does not allow him to be factual in his blogs. Now, your factual basis is a movie that has been completely discredited except in far right wing circles. You are sooooo good. It is a good thing that the blogs never require you to post your sources and require fact checking before they are printed. There would be no more wingy dingys.

So, they released the e-mails and I am not a happy camper. Why did I read the factual version and Dusty and billwillnevereverevergetit get to read the Fox News/Rush edition. White house was involved. How demented can you get, Billwillnevereverevergetit. Wasn't there. but the Repubs keep wasting time on it. Boy, are you guys scared of Hillary!! Say, where is the jobs bill? Have we got a farm bill yet and how is that sequester fix coming along. Know any senior citizens who are missing some meals? Oh, well, the Republican health plan is for them to die anyway. What a couple of losers you two are.

This MDN poll?

Veritas, I don't believe what the MDN says or what its various commenters say (that's us) will matter much in the national scheme of things, especially in things presidential.

But I think the MDN has a right to express its editorial opinion, just like you have a right to express your opinion, just like I have a right to express mine.

If you're looking for unvarnished truth from a media source nowadays, good hunting to you.

As far as that goes, why not look for those media sources of the past that published the unvarnished truth while you're at it.

A great time period would be the aftermath of the Civil War, with accounts from losers and winners.

Just which was telling the "truth" then?

After reading Public Policy Polling's "About Us" section on their website, I'm more firmly convinced than ever that a poll can be taken and/or interpreted however the poll taker (or even customer) pleases.

Pay close attention to the "Sampling" and "Weighting" paragraphs concerning demographics.

What do I think? More of the same...

animal, I agree that the lefty apologists are out in full force today defending the President, as if nobody should question what he or his associates might have done.

If there's truth to the allegations, let's have it out in the open--that's another way of saying "transparent," y'know.

Obama is a politician and politicians have a license for corruption, so it's legal.

Nixon was drunk all of the time while demanding Hanoi be nuked. His mind was addled from spirits and he walked the halls of the White House talking to the portraits of the foundering fathers. Drunk as a skunk.

Republicans were just as stupid back then as they are now. All that has been added to their stupidity is the outrage. The pot calling the kettle black.

Last I remember, Nixon was elected by the people. Hunter Thompson couldn't believe Nixon wasn't in jail. He knew is was all totally corrupt back then too.

Johnson was just as corrupt. Fly those grunts to Vietnam and have them fight! Country Joe McDonald even wrote a song about it all.

Obama joined the Warmongers of America Club. Big deal.

If it's government, it's corrupt.

Veritas, you must not know what "understatement" is all about.

For example, when you go on and on about how unfair things are in Republican-dominant ND (the eyes of Cyclops thing), you are NOT engaging in understatement.

Another opportunity to trash Obama, which is all there is left to do and what is left of the Obama Administration is now trash.

Why does Obama hate our freedoms so much?

It's a Bill of Rights witch hunt.

Somehow, Freedom of Speech seems to be under assault here and now. Obama's brown shirts descend upon the AP.

First they came for the second amendment, but I didn't have any guns, so I didn't speak up to save the right to bear arms.

Then they came for the first amendment, but I wasn't a journalist under surveillance by the Obama Administration, so I didn't speak up.

Obama has lost any hope of favorable rapport with the press anymore. The hate for Obama has begun.

Just wait until it is full-fledged.

You just don't drone people and get away with murder. The blowback is yet to come.

Thou shalt not covet anything that is thy neighbors.

I really can't believe this question. Well I guess I can since it is the Minot Daily Republican. I just wish the paper would be middle of the road instead instead of so blantly republican slanted. I just wish there was another newspaper in this city. No such luck.
