Had you been at the scene of the Boston Marathon bombings and were not hurt, do you think you would have run away from the blasts, or toward them?

  1. Toward

It's probably the safest bet to duck and cover at that point. First rule of a double-tap attack; no telling where the blast to follow might come from.

we evidently need more laws limiting ownership of pressure cookers and we need to register all pressure cooker owners.

It's easy for people to say they would run towards the blast when they have never experienced anything like that. It's different if someone was hurt next to me, then I would help get them out of there, but to run toward the blast is just stupid.

I think I would have jumped about 10 feet in the air then probably levitated about 10 feet away and when my feet touched the ground again I would have went to help.

Interesting analogy, willgrr, since you are one of the MDN's top commenters.

Let me see, everyone has sympathy for those hurt or killed in the Texas Blast. Now, what type of funding should we give to the Governor who does not believe in federal help and actually wanted to secede from the Union. What about the Representative from that District. Do we send federal money to his district since he voted against funds for Hurricane Sandy people? Well, liberals would vote to send money in spite of the two right wing idiots that represent Texas because it is for the people. One more question. Who builds a high school, an elementary school, and a middle school within spitting distance of an anhydrous fertilizer plant????

"...why should I pay to cover their corruption?"

Perhaps willgrr doesn't have any compassion left for Texans. Right on cue, his political leanings come shining through, no matter the human element in the TX tragedy.

No worries, Willard. We can expect lawsuits over this accident. Somehow, money will exchange hands, whether it should or shouldn't.

Well, my post must have been wrong. Did not the Governor of Texas advocate secession from the US and did he not talk against government aide for anyone. Did not the Governor of Texas balance his budget with government handouts and money from federal bailouts while claiming he balanced the budget all by himself? Now, does this district not have a representative who voted against aide to states damaged by Hurricane Sandy? Chris Christy was right about the Republicans....led by idiots. Oh, and Democrats "will" vote for aide to the people of Texas. How many dumb cluck republicans will vote against it? Oh, an your last post billwillnevergetit, is close to one of your loonyiest yet. You are far more than a half bubble off center. You are tilted along with animal. You are a real dip, animal, Perry has stated he is requesting Federal funds three or more days ago just like he did in 2011 for fires. Add some more Rush and fox news for you to go along with you mental deficienc

Donkeyrider... the oil/gas products are pulled through the pipelines with compressor stations that function much like milking machines do. Maybe some of the old ones push it through but I doubt it. I think the delivery systems for cities are pressure driven by the gas turning from liquid to gas.

Enbride's safety problems and spills are on record for those who really want to know the truth. That lets the wingers out. Kalamazoo, Mi. and Mayflower, Ar. certainly are indications of total distrust for honesty from big oil. Maybe you wingers should look them up for a change. Ah, no, you don't want the facts in your dream worlds.

"Too many Americans, and certainly those on the right, assume that, left to their own devices, people will behave themselves."

Sorry for the segue, but this works with existing firearms laws too. Did you know that both felons and those who sell to them can be punished with up to 10 yrs. prison time for making the transaction?

So why aren't the existing laws being enforced and/or prosecuted by those in authority (executive branch for one)?

I would run to the blasts, wait for the second bomb blast which the bomber is waiting for the greatest number of humans to gather before detonating the bomb, and maybe be killed.

If you take cover and wait for the second blast, then go and help those who gathered and were injured because they were foolish to go and help after the first blast and became victims.

If there are more bombs after the second bomb and you're they're helping, you still might get killed, but then the army is called in and the fun begins.

When the oil gets to Cushing, OK, they mix it all in big tanks that have lots of pipes leading to and from those big tanks. Then, the mixed oil is loaded and heads for other markets.
