Sounds like more fear mongering from the military industrial complex, that brought us 10 years of Iraq...10 years and Bush/Cheney still haven't been prosecuted for war crimes and deceiving the American people!

United Nations Security Council Resolution 1441. It's a great read, blame the all the nations. Also markH...don't forget all the dems that said WMD we need to invade. Don't be fooled Iraq had/has WMD.

Obvious answer: "No", adding that there isn't a need to add anything more to America's defences. The current system in place could easily destroy China, North Korea besides. And at any rate, the whole hullabaloo over their testing is that they cannot get a warhead small enough to fit into a nosecone.

And as a brief aside, minreader, the Iraq war lies squarely upon Messrs. Cheney, Bush, and Rumsfeld, but also the media in general and Americans such as yourself, who were doubtless foaming at the mouth as they filled their shorts. Ten years couldn't have affected your memory that much...

If we should learn anything from the Iraq War, it's that mass hysteria oughtn't mix with foreign policy. I think that lesson applies here admirably to North Korea today.

I agree D. Many times this type of thing is diversionary until people actually think it is reality. Over and over again.

Quite a few years ago I was involved with a study of how people come to their beliefs, we believe what we hear first then next we believe what we hear most. It is that simple.

Let's see, we had the "bomber gap" in the 50's, the "missile gap" in the 60, and the "missile defense gap" in the 90's. Now, the Koreans don't have a missile that can reach us and they don't have a bomb that would fit on the missile that they don't have, so absolutely we should be scared stiff and let some more contract to "missile defense" contractors for missiles that don't work. The Koreans have left us no choice...
