What should be done about the 10,000-square-foot Governor's Residence, said to be in need of major repairs and updating?

Worried is talking to himself again; no where has lorexxx or I, even commented on this issue. If you can't comment intelligently on a subject, let it go worried. Instead it makes you look stupid when everyone knows that you are vying for that title. :-)

I could have built a double garage for what I have paid in property tax the last two years--of course that would have increased my tax on that more--Based on State Tax Equalization--The Mansion(primarily used for RECREATION}-- needs to be taxed at same rate.I have to pay out of my earnings so the Governor should to --its only FAIR--Still waiting for meaningful property tax relief.

The House defeated the measure. The money used would not be from taxes. It is from income set up by the feds when we became statehood from land or some such thing. The current home was built in the early 60's. But, tax relief for us would be a wonderful thing. This shifting of the property tax that they are doing os going to come back and bite us. And for many there is no property tax relief.

repair and update. The ranch style fits nicely on the property and is unassuming. Or is that the problem? Lets fix it and update it. That will be expensive enough!

Fix up the house? Who in the world can afford to do that?

I gave up a long time ago when taxes suddenly became double of what they were. It gets tiring to try to keep up with the constant increases in taxes and monthly bills. It is no use. I give up.

Build a new governor's mansion anyway, just to show off to visitors what money can buy these days.

how about some real tax relief for the rest of us so we can fix up our own homes? i have to "let things slide" in order to pay Minot's insane property tax rates, so i think the mansion is good enuf already in spite of some pols thinking we need a palace.
