"There are 47 percent of the people who will not vote for the president no matter what … who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims. … These are people who pay no income tax. I’ll never convince them that they should take personal responsibility and quit asking the federal government for money."
Can't imagine this statement refers to corporations or states..can I?
There is a sixty second video clip out there that contains a compendium of Obama diatribes that end up pure babble. He talks so much, doesn't know what to say then ends up at a loss for words. If you would see it, you would truly wonder how he got where he is. He needs handlers.
You truly have to be brainwashed if you are willing to listen to what he says and then willingly parrot all of his propaganda.
What's that one I remember so well?
Here it is:
Thou shalt not kill.*
*If you are a president, you are exempt from this rule and will be exonerated. It's fair.
Thou shalt not kill takes on a new meaning in newspeak.
America's been lied to and will continue in this cycle for another four years. Those that cheer for this incompetant man truely suffer from a Liberal Derangement Disorder.
Insightful from beginning to end-well articulated and open to compromise. A balanced approach to increase in taxation and priority spending. Well received by most congressional leaders.
Same old same old yap yap yap from Obama. All talk and no action. Whenever he has an idea or plan to put forth, it is usually very expensive and the ideas are very socialistic and border line dictatorish...so when anyone goes up against him, he just claims he is not getting cooperation from the Republicans. Not impressed with Obama at all.
By a better than 2- to-1 margin, viewers of President Barack Obama’s State of the Union speech rated it highly compared with those who didn’t like the address 53 percent of speech viewers had a “very positive” reaction, 24 percent said they had a “somewhat positive response” and 22 percent said they experienced a negative response.
Guess my 47% comment earlier was not exactly correct.
Obviously, this poll is subject to interpretation from everyone. I look at it as 28% of those respondents thought the speech was good to excellent. But, only five percent thought it was bad. There were a number of individuals who indicated that they disliked the President but they failed to vote on the speech. So, therefore, 84% of those responding to the quality of the speech thought it was a good/very good speech. Good job, Mr. President.
From the previous comments on the minimum wage from the righties, it is obvious that you don't understand the wage proposals and when they have been enacted. The minimum wage in 1968 was $1.60/hr. Based on inflation it should have increased to $10.27/hr by 2011. The last increase was approved by congress in 2007 and the increase concluded three years ago at $7.25/hr. Now, the proposal is a laddered approach to increase it to $9.00/hr. by 2014. That would be a whopping $18,000 a year. Now, there is also a tipping provision in the law. History has shown that there is no job loss but there is more job retention instead.
Centerfield, how much does Obama care add into this. It is one thing and then another thing and it continues on. Enough of all about employees and companies are making millions. President Obama has divided this country.
Missy1, remember that Nancy P said that "no I have not read it but we have to pass it to know whats in it" Sum kinda sad. obama last night said that if congress does not pass his agenda he will just sign excutive orders to get what he wants done.
Haven't missed a State of the Union address since Eisenhower, so I tried to listen to this one. I couldn't stand it for long. This so called "leader" hasn't a single clue except how to lie to the American people and try to destroy this country from within. As unbelievable as it is for anyone with a brain to use, there are actually people who believe him.
I can certainly understand you three being clueless about things but to continue to blame Obama when your own party is absolutely doing nothing to help the country is truly being clueless. Now, for the first time in the history of congress the Republicans are going to filibuster a nominee for the Secretary of Defense. It is amazing that you continue to swallow the garbage of talk radio, Fox, Rush, and your own leaders. They have obstructed everything and they continue to do so. You saw what the people did in the election and they will do it in two years. The people are waking up to the destruction of our country and they know who to blame. The Republican obstructionism is going to destroy the country and the republican party. There certainly is a division and you can see what side you are on... the wrong side.
What? They can't get to the "truth" it is buried under person to person and paper work. Just like when Clinton lied about his Monica and Hillary defended him. Either way, at that point, I will vote Right.
I see Dick Cheney is starting to run his mouth off...he must think Americans have forgotten about the crap him and Bush pulled...can't wait til 2014 when the lefties take the house away from the party of NO ! ! !
"This so called "leader" hasn't a single clue except how to lie to the American people and try to destroy this country from within."
This is where you're wrong. He actually believes that what he's doing won't destroy the country from within. We don't move forward by accusing opposition of wanting bad things for the country. That just leads to bickering and stonewalling. The only available way to move forward now is to become the elected majority, or to somehow convince the opposition to change their views.

If you can actually continue to listen to him after he begins a speech, you have the patience of Job.
I heard him speak to the UN General Assembly via television. After a while, it is all preaching and there is no decipherable speech to detect.
I guess if you are a dedicated neo-fascist, you can tolerate what he says.
I'll choose to hear something different, it's all lies anymore.
He should hire a new propaganda czar. Obama's propaganda shtik is getting old and tired.
If it's what you want to hear, go for it.
This drone's for you.
