Yeah the Obama advertisement with Obama himself was about average for the adds they run for the game. Do you suppose we paid millions to let him talk on SB Sunday? And why would we?

poli, are you saying gun owners have no rights when you ask what rights they THINK they have? And yes, I am watching the super bowl.

disgusted, I realize that. I just want to know what kind of right gun-owners think that they have. More specifically, is it a right that all humans have, or just americans?

poli, the second amendment to the Constitution does not say anything about the unalienable Rights of Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
out of curiosity, do supporters of gun rights consider the right to bear arms an inalienable human right or just an american right?

Mark, you sound as though you've taught gun safety classes before. Everyone should have to take one, weather they ever own a gun or not, I believe the general population needs to be educated.

I think it's pretty much 100% sure we wouldn't be enjoying the freedom to discuss guns if it were not for guns themselves. Any thing other than fully auto guns are not assault rifles anyway.... let's not let our imagination's go wild. Raffle don't baffle!!

Again, the MDN uses the print media to their advantage by using the open statement on guns vs assault weapons. Gun background checks should be enforced to the winners of the guns as you do with ordinary purchases. I don't know of anyone who has a problem with gun raffles with the back ground checks in place, but almost all have reservations on assault weapons. As to the prescription analogy, there are probably three times or more people who take prescriptions as own guns which skews your figures.

Nothing wrong with people...BUT they need to be registered and regulated, just like automobiles or pharmaceuticals that can be lethal if used for purposes other than they are intended for.
It's bad people who use guns to kill, so let's just make sure the people who win them don't have a record or mental problems.
