your not loco after all--management and methods of distribution may be part of the problem-gaining the revenue to provide the service could be another--seems like changes they want to make cannot be done because of cost and public expectations. Six day delivery as example.

OK, Worried, whatever.
The USPS got it wrong a few years back, when they were considering closing several small offices in rural locations (not just ND).
Then the ND boom came and everyone is now up in arms about insufficient workers for the increased volume.
No crystal ball for the USPS higher-ups concerning ND's boom, that's certain.
But I think there are other problems associated with USPS than just unions or this boom area being under-staffed. I don't know all of them, but one place to start would be to look at the present distribution system to see if improvements can be made. JMO
But they are Union workers and the Govt. Subsidy to stay afloat--of course the monies they took in for campaign information from Rick Berg must have helped out to keep them running. Created enough fuel for my fireplace for the year.
When have the republicans called the Postal Service welfare?
So, you want all the gun subsidies. Just cuz you live off government monies, that doesn't mean we all do.
I am all for getting rid of ALL subsidies. Let's get rid of unions, esp unions for government employees. Know itemize the $1.68 and where all that moeny is going. All of it. I believe that money should stay at home. So, can I say we are on the same side?

WA, you whine and complain when poeple remark about your posts and yet; with posts like that what are we supposed to do? We could argue for private postal service, but that is not the quick or the realistic answer. We could demand the reversal of the pension program which would free up 'working capital'. But, using the term welfare should be used ONLY for those who leach off the taxpayers and do nothing in exchange.
What else can they do? There is only so much federal welfare to spread around this vast country, RIGHT!
