Worried, your last post bordered on inane blathering. But I didn't say it was inane blathering, OK?
H4C (or Capt., whichever you prefer), some can't take the heat of the kitchen, but want to serve up instant mashed potatoes whenever it suits them.
Big Truth (ask any potato aficionado): Real is Better than Instant.
And adding a touch of homemade garlic chicken gravy? Priceless!!

"Where do you people get off with such comments? Try stepping on to Media Matters for a second and see how well you fair there. Maybe you people need to make an adjustment in attitude...You don't know everything, in fact I'm pretty sure you don't know much."
"Comments" = Free Speech, which all seem to be enjoying well here on the MDN, Rajj included.

MagicCityBorn, you have to remember that WA is a demcorat and very sensitive. Even though you were right, we have to treat him with kid gloves. It is not fair, but it is life. Hang in there. And keep up the good work.

Worried, verbal assault? I'm just calling it like I see it. I'm not the one who types with bad grammar and who typed "their" when you mean there. If you are going to fire back then at least show that you have been properly educated. Raji, do you think you're big and bad because you "reported" me? For what? Worried called me a "dumb ********" because apparently he's back in grade school with that maturity. That's really classy. Henry is right, I read your posts and made my comment and I'm not sorry for what I originally said and I'm entitled to my own free speech the same way you are.

You people are something to behold. Firstly, this is not a newspaper, this a comment section of a newspaper. I've never read such undemocratic sentiment, even on "yahoo comments" and those people are certifiably insane. Where do you people get off with such comments? Try stepping on to Media Matters for a second and see how well you fair there. Maybe you people need to make an adjustment in attitude...You don't know everything, in fact I'm pretty sure you don't know much. And Henry, 25th's are every bit as important as the first, ask the Misses. And in fact the second Obama inauguration feels even better than the first for me. And I ain't going away. This is kinda fun. See ya around boys and girls!!

I didn't vote for Obama, but had a Republican won, the same question would be asked I'm sure. So YES it is okay to spend this kind of money on this President, because I would have said YES if it had been Romney.

I'll be running through airports that day. I am sure my tax dollars are spent wisely. I won't be around a TV or radio. And hopefully, our pilot won't be drunk.

Worried--- MCB Has been reported. We don't need ad hominem attacks here. Though little else goes on. :-)
This subject; has anybody bothered to check that only the inauguration is paid for by taxpayer money? Another note; believing the US is in financial trouble is like believing you have no money because you ran out of check blanks. John Boehner aside, we are not broke and never will be.

MGOT,Thank the Lord that the President is not like bush.We would be bowing to the top 2 percent and eating rice three times a day.No drgd users making it to the hall this year.I'm sueing AIG for my 60 percent drop in the stock market.I think I will have a better case because no one bailed me out.The Republicans would all like to party likes it's 1999.Prince

Look Obama isnt Bush... so who cares what Bush did... This is Obama so if Bush did it its ok for Obama to do it? No, thats not the mentality of Obama. He said he all need to cut back. Why not start with him?
Why should my fair share go to that?

"Why shouldn't it be scaled down drastically? Why should they lavishly spend on inaugurations at any time? We have to tighten our belts as a nation. It isn't a slam against Democrats. It's a slam against wasteful spending by the government."
Great post, keyz. If we as a nation are being called upon to "sacrifice" then the President should be the one to lead the way, in scaling back on this celebratory event, most of which is optional and not necessary, IMO.
I mean, is the nation in trouble financially or isn't it? The President could show the way by his example.

Washington Businessmen-hotels and restaraunts are enjoying the increase in business-any excuse would do--a celebration for winners and a waste of money for losers.

There you go again, where did I say I was attending? Stupid is as stupid does. You will be famous for your performance talking to the empty suit or chair. You'll hit the big time and the apples and tomatoes thrown at you will bring the house down.

Don’t worry Worried, your job won’t be affected one bit. When your name is called to entertain you can dance on Obama’s stage singing SEND IN THE CLOWNS. People will sure bring the house down on you.

Without all the inauguration celebrations we would have to layoff several workers that depend on these party functions for their jobs! Do you want to put all of them on food stamps?

If every red-blooded American would contribute a dollar to the inauguration fund, it would amount to 300 million dollars. It would be from all private funds, not from collected taxes, so nobody would be able to claim that the gov wastes money on partying.
Obama would be able to party for four more years.
