The second annual Velva Volunteer Fire and Rescue Golf Tournament will be held Saturday, Aug. 9, at Star City Golf Course, north of Velva on N.D. Highway 41. Registration begins at 8 a.m. for the 10 a.m. shotgun start. Tournament is open to the public. Cost is $200 per four-man scramble team. The Minot Out of Darkness Suicide Awareness Walk is Sept. 13 at Roosevelt Park. Registration is from noon to 1 p.m., with the walk from 1 to 3 p.m.
