Dakota Square Mall Barnes and Noble is celebrating Disney's "Frozen," the highest-grossing animated film of all time, with "Frozen Friday: Cool Off with Olaf!" a sing-along and storytime event at 7 p.m. The store invites fans of Olaf, everyone's favorite summer-loving snowman, to a sing-along of Olaf's "In Summer" song, a special storytime, and crafts and activities such as a bag toss game, making a snow cloud and snowflakes so Olaf can go to the beach.
The Give360 Color Dash 5k will be held on Saturday, Aug. 9, at Roosevelt Park. The Color Dash 5k is an untimed, family-friendly run/walk to raise money for planning for a children's museum in Minot. Participants will experience a colorful, fun mess: Color Dashers will start in white t-shirts and get pelted with color explosions as they pass through five different color zones along the Roosevelt Park trail. At the finish, everyone will be covered in colors. Post-race activities will include additional color explosions, live music, dance contest, and more fun activities for participants and spectators. Registration is $40 for individuals, $35 for teams, and $85 for families. The event is hosted by Give360, a giving circle within the Minot Area Community Foundation. The Minot chapter of the Women of the Moose will be serving a fundraising breakfast, consisting of French toast, sausage, orange juice, coffee or tea for $6, at the Moose Lodge, 400-9th St. SW, on Sunday, Aug. 3, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
Donations of school supplies will be accepted on Wednesday, Aug. 6, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Town and Country Credit Union, 615 S. Broadway. A bus will be located in the parking lot and Sunrise Rotary Club will be accepting your donations. Donations after Aug. 6 can be dropped off at The Salvation Army Church, 315 Western Ave., Minot.
