On the KX News last week they reported that MADC had an $11 million surplus! Meanwhile, our city could only come up with $74,000 to help clean up the zombie homes. I honestly don't understand why our city can't find a way to use some of MADC's surplus funds to help clean up and rebuild the valley. Every person in this city helped build that fund through their purchases. Can't it be argued that a clean and thriving community is just as important to attracting a business to our community as anything else? Wouldn't it make sense then to use some of those funds to invest back in to our community instead of throwing it at companies that are coming here with or without incentives.
