NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER SERVICES PLANNED IN MINOT The National Day of Prayer will be celebrated Thursday, May 1, in Minot by some churches.
National Day of Prayer gatherings are planned from noon to 1 p.m. in Our Redeemer's Church, 700-16th Ave. SE, and at the same time in First Baptist Church, 200-3rd St. SW. An evening of worship and prayer is also scheduled at 7 p.m. in Northland Harvest Church, 140 Souris Drive.
The theme for this year's National Day of Prayer observance across our nation is "One Voice, United In Prayer," taken from Romans 15:6, "...that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ."
The services will include Scripture, prayer and song.
POST-ABORTIVE WOMEN TO SPEAK DURING 'OUT OF THE DARKNESS' EVENT A panel of post-abortive women from North Dakota will share their journey from hurt, pain and grief to healing and hope on May 3 at the Vegas Hotel in Minot. The "Out of the DarknessInto the Light: Healing After Abortion" program will begin at 2 p.m.
There is no admission charge, but a freewill offering will be taken to benefit Dakota Hope Clinic, who is sponsoring this program. The clinic is located in Minot.

UKRAINE MISSIONARY TO SPEAK IN LIGHTHOUSE CHURCH Missionary evangelist Peter Mehl will speak Sunday, April 27, at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. at the Lighthouse Church, 1400-5th St. SW, in Minot. Peter Mehl has just returned to the United States after traveling in Ukraine and Moldova. The church is also hosting Mehl's wife, Jill, and the Mehls' Moldova ministry overseer, evangelist Kaaren Zelfimyan, for a speaking tour.
The Mehls have evangelized and pioneered churches in the former Soviet Union for 21 years, including the current hot spot of Crimea, where they had a ministry base for several years. The Mehls have been through the Russia and Ukraine economic collapses, faced Russia Mafia threats and been interrogated by the KGB during their ministry work.

ANNUAL RUMMAGE, BAKE SALE SCHEDULED IN MINOT CHURCH The annual rummage and bake sale at Bethany Lutheran Church will be held May 3 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the church activity center at 215-3rd Ave. SE.
Caramel rolls and coffee will be available.
Many of the rummage sale items will be sold for 50 cents.
GAITHER HOMECOMING ARTIST CONCERT PLANNED IN BOTTINEAU Gaither Homecoming artist, Lynda Randle, from Kansas City, Mo., will present a concert May 2 at 7:30 p.m. in Holwell Auditorium at Bottineau High School, in Bottineau.
Randle has been a favorite on the Gaither Homecoming Series and videos. In 2005, she won a Dove Award for her album, "A Tribute to Mahalia Jackson."
There is no admission charge but a freewill offering will be received.
MINOT CHURCH TO HOST 'A NEW START TO A NEW YOU' SEMINARS Seventh-day Adventist Church, of Minot, will host "A New Start to a New You" seminars April 28 to May 2 in the Sleep Inn, 2400-10th St. SW.
Living fit, living smoke-free, eating foods that fuel, reducing stress and dealing with addiction are some of the topics that will be addressed during the one-hour sessions that will begin at 7 p.m.
People are encouraged to use the south entrance to attend the sessions, which are free. Free children's programs for youth ages 3 to 10 will also be available.

ANNUAL TEA EVENT TO BE HELD IN TIOGA CHURCH The annual "Old-Fashioned Ladies Aid Tea" at First Lutheran Church in Tioga will be May 4 in the church fellowship hall. The theme of the tea is "Yes, Lord ... But."
