Erik and Dianna Anderson, Minot State University music faculty, will perform a cello and piano concert Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in Ann Nicole Nelson Hall. Admission is free, and parking is unrestricted.
The Minot Area Theatrical Society will present "Alice In Wonderland" Thursday, April 10, a no-meal show at 7 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, April 11-12, with meal starting at 7 p.m. and show performing at 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, April 13, a no-meal show performing at 1 p.m. All performances will be in the Stardust Ballroom at The Vegas. Brooklyn-based pianist Karl Larson will present a recital March 28 at 7:30 p.m. in MSU's Ann Nicole Nelson Hall. It is the second concert of the Minot Modern Project, a series of concerts focusing on music composed within the last 100 years. In addition to performing selections of solo piano music by Olivier Messiaen, Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel and David Smooke, Larson will collaborate with James Fusik, MSU assistant professor of woodwinds, on two major works for saxophone and piano by William Albright and Eric Wubbels. The event is funded by a Center For Engaged Teaching and Learning grant. Parking on campus is free and open to the public for this performance.
The Voices of Pride group will be presenting its spring concert and show, "Edge of Gloria," at the United Congregational Church of Christ, 430-2nd St. NW, on Saturday, March 29, at 7 p.m. The event is open to the public, and a free will offering will be accepted.
The Minot High School One-Act Competition Play will be presented in the Central Campus Auditorium on Monday, March 31, and in the Arvel Graving Theater at Magic City Campus on Tuesday, April 1. Both performances are at 8 p.m. and admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students. The cast and crew of "No Show!", our entry in the Class A One-Act Play Competition, is composed of MHS ninth- through 12th-graders and directed by Paula Rauschenberger. The show is a half-hour comedy and will compete with other Class A one-acts on the campus of NDSU in Fargo on Monday and Tuesday, April 7-8.
Entertainment Inc. will host "Steel Magnolias" auditions April 7-8 at 7 p.m. in the Old Armory Theatre. The two audition dates are provided for convenience; it is not necessary to attend both. A script will be provided for cold readings at auditions. There is no need to prepare a monologue.
