Mary Ann Wolfe, 83, Minot, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2014, in her home surrounded by her loving family.

Mary was born on Jan. 10, 1931, in Balta, to Joseph and Kunigunda (Axtman) Massine. She was reared and educated in Rugby and graduated from Rugby High School in 1949. As a young adult, she was employed for three years as an office clerk by the Pierce County Tribune in Rugby.

Mary and Claude Wolfe were married on Nov. 29, 1951, in Rugby. They made their home in South Carolina and Indiana while Claude was serving in the military. Following his honorable discharge from the Korean War, they lived in Rugby before moving to Minot in 1964. Mary was a full-time wife, mother and homemaker. She worked for many years cleaning for various Minot businesses and private homes.

Mary was a member of St. John The Apostle Catholic Church and its Confraternity of Christian Mothers, Minot. She was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. For many years, Mary made homemade valentines for the VFW Auxiliary to be distributed to veterans. Before becoming too ill, she made over 100 for this past holiday.

She especially enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and quilting. Every family member has a special blanket, quilt or crafted item made with her loving care. She enjoyed making something new out of things most people would be quick to recycle. Mary was an amazing cook and no family gathering was complete without her German potato salad or cinnamon twists. She had many hobbies and interests including collecting souvenir spoons, stamps, and cookbooks and working on family history. She also loved playing cards and games. However, her number one passion was her family and she loved it when we could all spend time together.

Mary's loving family includes: her husband of 62 years, Claude; children, Patricia (Randy) Burckhard, Minot, David (Kara) Wolfe, Coon Rapids, Minn., John (Monica) Wolfe, Billings, Mont., Richard (Laurie) Wolfe, Bismarck, Ann (Gary) Pull, Maple Grove, Minn.; grandchildren, Jerica Larson (Paul Klein), Tifany (Brock) Teets, Jason (Andrea) Burckhard, Jennifer (Jason) Olson, Stephanie (Brian) Prange, Colin Geil, Chelsey Wolfe, Lindsey Wolfe, Katie (Rob) Carvell, Rylan Wolfe, Ashley Pull, Zachary Pull; great-grandchildren, Casey Larson, Brady Larson, Kailey Teets, Maddux Teets, Blake Burckhard, Brayden Olson, Gabriel Olson, Nicholas Olson, Charlie Carvell, Natalie Carvell; sisters-in-law, Lucille Massine, Kathleen (Tom) Love, Carole Wolfe; brothers-in-law, Jerry (Nancy) Andrews, Edward Brossart, Albert Wolfe, Victor (Leona) Wolfe; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; in-laws, Joe and Mary Wolfe; brother, Leonard Massine; sisters, Irene Peters, Margaret Brossart and Catherine Andrews; brother-in-law, Joe Wolfe; sisters-in-law, Victoria Yzbicki and Pat Wolfe; and nephew, Bradley Bryson.

Mary was very kind, gentle and giving. We will never forget her wonderful smile. She will be deeply missed.
