Dena Penton, Minot
The YWCA Minot is looking forward to participating in our second year of Giving Hearts Day this Feb. 13. This day of online giving fits perfectly with the Valentine's holiday as a time to express our love for others. Having matching funds takes our giving to a whole new level, as we realize that our gift of $20 is now $40. Now, that is a powerful way to make a difference.
The YWCA Minot is the only emergency shelter for homeless women and children in our eight county region. The recent growth in our area has created an increased need for our services. Our beds are filled, often to overflowing, with approximately 20-25 women and children on our waiting list. Our shelter provides our residents with a warm bed, warm meal, a hot shower, laundry facilities, goal setting and much more. Your heartfelt community support impacts them in significant ways that are sincerely appreciated.
The Giving Hearts Day Team is an amazing group of individuals who have banded together from the eight participating Minot organizations to promote this worthy effort. We understand that it's really not about us and our individual organizations, rather it's about Minot and our communities. The matching funds that each organization has secured are also the result of generous, caring community-minded businesses. We sincerely thank Ryan Family Dealerships and Digital Office Centre of Minot for their generosity in providing our matching funds.
All of the funds raised from this online day of giving will be used to provide the basic services needed for the residents of the YWCA Minot. Please join us at (www.impactgiveback.org) on Giving Hearts Day Feb. 13 and support your Minot community. What a unique and meaningful Valentine's gift. Happy Valentine's Day, Minot.
