Lorna Bryn passed on Dec. 29, 2013. She was 93. Her parents were Frank and Torbjor Homme. After graduating from college and while completing post-graduate degrees, Lorna taught in North Dakota and Arizona.

She married Odin Bryn in 1942 and lived in California while Odin served in the South Pacific during World War II.

She is survived by: two daughters, Saundra Bryn (Harmon) and Bonnie Bryn Hoffert (Bruce); three grandchildren, Cassaundra Harmon Wagenseller (Paul), Eric Bryn Harmon (Kara), and Adam Hoffert (Nicole); and six great-grandchildren, Christopher and Ryan Dirren, London, Lauren and Payton Ames, and Tommy Harvey.

Lorna taught us all that teaching and learning is a lifelong pursuit. She taught us to love reading, make great lefse and "Nonie buns," value old and new friendships, and pursue hobbies with a passion. She allowed us to tease her and joined in our laughter. She reared family-centered, independent people. Lorna and Odin created a family legacy of fun, laughter, and strength with the core beliefs, "Life is too important to be taken seriously," and "Never sacrifice a good story for the truth."

Private interment services will be held.

Memorials in Lorna's name may be sent to Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix, Ariz.

(Sunland Mortuary, Sun City, Ariz.)
