Penny Parsons

Penny Parsons, 52, Minot, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, in her home with her loving family and special friends by her side.

Penny Ziglar was born Feb. 3, 1961, the daughter of Shirley Romesburg, in Fort Campbell, Ky. She was raised and educated in Muncie, Ind., and graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1979.

Penny enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in January 1980 and upon completion of basic training was stationed at Minot Air Force Base. She was honorably discharged in January 1984.

Penny was united in marriage to Robert L. Parsons in Minot, where they made their home. Penny worked for the AAFES Base Exchange, where she was the assistant manager at the time of her death.

Penny enjoyed going bowling and was on multiple bowling leagues through the years. She enjoyed reading, cooking, doing puzzles and spending time with all of her friends and family. She also loved going out with her friends for karaoke.

Her loving family includes: husband of 32 years, Robert, Minot; son, Robert A. Parsons (Krista Jorgensen), Bismarck; daughter, Stacey Parsons, Minot; mother, Shirley Romesburg, Muncie; brother, Ronnie Ziglar (wife Roberta), Muncie; sisters, Valerie Jones, Debbie Ramey (husband Mark) and Lori Rhoades, all Muncie; sister-in-laws, Cyndi Swanson (husband Skip), San Juan, Puerto Rico, Christy Eddy (husband Gary), Cottage Grove, Minn., Cathy Noble (husband Nate), Minneapolis; father-in-law, Robert W. Parsons, St. Paul, Minn.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as beloved family dogs Shelby and Sumi.

Penny was preceded in death by her stepfather, Ralph Romesburg, and mother-in-law, Becky Parsons.

Funeral: Tuesday, Jan. 7, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Minot.

Cremation will follow the service.

Visitation: Monday from 2 to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
