Deloris Ell, 78, Minot, died Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, in a Minot nursing home.
Deloris Thomas was born Sept. 15, 1935, a daughter of Anton and Rose (Martin) Thomas, in Mandan. She was raised near Solan and educated in Bismarck.
Deloris was united in marriage to Mike Ell on Sept. 13, 1954. They made their home in Minot, where together they owned and operated Atlas Sand and Gravel, construction companies, and together built and operated the Hacienda Restaurant in Burlington. In 1975, daughter Michelle was born, and Deloris operated a daycare out of her home. Mike died Dec. 23, 2000, and following his death she continued to reside in Minot.
Deloris enjoyed traveling, wintering in Arizona and spending time with her granddaughter, Abigail.
Deloris is survived by: daughter Michelle and her husband, Paul Feneis; granddaughter, Abigail; sister, Angeline Fiest; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Deloris was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Mike; and siblings, Mary Benfiet, John Thomas, Magdelene Benfiet, Jacob Thomas, Katherene Hall, Matt Thomas, Jack Thomas, Dan Thomas, Mathilda Zearley and Leonard Thomas.
Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, Jan. 3, at 2 p.m. at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot.
Burial: At a later date in the spring of 2014 at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Visitation: There will be no reviewal, however, friends may sign a guest register on Friday, Jan. 3, one hour prior to the service at the church.
