It's been 1 year, 3 months and 11 days since Hazen's last defeat. Since Sept. 21, 2012, the Bison have ran off 20 straight wins, swiped the Class A Region 4 title twice and repeated as state champions.
Hazen put together a dominant 12-0 campaign this year, winning every game by 12 points or more and with a 32.6-point average margin of victory. In the Dakota Bowl, the Bison finished off Milnor-North Sargent 20-0.
"The ball has to bounce your way and it did quite a few times, same as last year," Hazen coach Rick Philion said. "We're fortunate we've got kids who work hard."

Junior quarterback Connor Doll and his Hazen Bison teammates won their second straight Class A title and 20th game in a row with a Dakota Bowl victory over Milnor-North Sargent.
Seniors Hunter Fears, Nate Leintz, Seth Kreil and Class A athlete of the year Austin Cieslak each received all-state distinction.
"It's been a joy to be with these guys," said the 11th-year coach. "Hazen's had a great football program well before I got there and I'm just kind of the caretaker now."
