Organizers announced that funds and foodstuffs raised by this year's Canadian Pacific Holiday Train broke previous records, with over $2 million and 150 tons of food collected from over 150 communities in the United States and Canada. These were all gathered and redistributed locally from each of the trains' show stops.
Over 3,500 pounds of nonperishable food items were collected from attendees to Minot's event on Dec. 18. These went toward Community Action Partnership in Minot, which distributed the articles to area food pantries. In addition to a $6,000 check donated by the railroad, Minot Area Homeless Coalition also raised around $550 from its free-will refreshment stand.
