Frank M. Clark Jr., 79, Minot, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, in a Minot hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Frank Monroe Clark Jr. was born Feb. 11, 1934, a son of Frank Monroe and Dorothy Elizabeth (Painter) Clark, in Lincoln, Neb. He was raised and educated in Lincoln and graduated from Minot High School in 1952.
On May 5, 1953, Frank enlisted in the Air Force. He proudly served his country for more than 27 years, retiring on Dec. 31, 1980. During his tenure with the Air Force, he served in several tours overseas including Vietnam, Turkey, Japan, Germany, Hawaii and several military bases throughout the United States.
On March 29, 1958, Frank was united in marriage to Dawn Meeker in Oswego, N.Y., where he was stationed at the time. Together, they would raise their two children, son, Frank "Bud" Clark III, and Susan Lee.
Following his retirement from the Air Force, Frank furthered his education by attending Angelo State University, where he would receive his bachelor of business administration degree in computer science. He then taught at the military base in St. Angelo, Texas, until his second retirement in 1996. Frank and his family then moved to Minot to be closer to relatives.
Frank enjoyed working with computers, bowling, fishing and some traveling. He was a loving husband, father, brother and uncle. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, including his cats.
Those most privileged to have shared Frank's life include: Wife of 55 years, Dawn, Minot; children, Frank M. Clark III, Minot, and Susan L. (Jack) Region, Windsor, Va.; brother, Steve (Penny) Clark, Minneapolis; sisters-in-law, Barb Walter, Minot, Sharon Muroski and Sharon Moore, both Oswego, N.Y., and Judy (Dave) Nearbin, Crestview, Fla.; brothers-in-law, Tom (Jackie) Meeker, Fulton, N.Y., and John (Louise Neupert) Meeker, Oswego, N.Y.; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Daniel and Gary; and a brother-in-law, Chuck Meeker.
Funeral service: Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at 11 a.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot .
Visitation: Sunday, Oct. 20, from noon to 5 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot
