Alyce Jundt

Alyce Jundt, 94, of Bottineau, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, at a Bottineau nursing home. Her funeral will be held on Monday, Oct. 14, at 10 a.m., at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Bottineau. Visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 13, from 1 to 9 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Burial will be at St. Mark's Catholic Cemetery in Bottineau.

Alyce Jundt, a daughter of Charles and Eugenia (Rivard) Christenson, was born May 4, 1919, at Bottineau. She was raised on the family farm, where she became a fantastic seamstress and an excellent cook. She graduated from Omemee High School and received her business degree from the North Dakota School of Forestry.

Alyce met Tony Jundt at a local dance. They were terrific dance partners and were well known for their dancing, which they enjoyed for many years. They were married on Oct. 28, 1947, at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Bottineau, where they made their home and raised their five children. Alyce worked for many years at the Bottineau Clinic and later Trutna's Department Store until her well-deserved retirement. Tony passed away Aug. 26, 2002.

Alyce was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church in Bottineau, where she was active in the Altar Society. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge. She hosted many card parties and would never say no to a game of any kind. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was very active and adventurous, even riding go-carts, snowmobiling and trying to learn to water ski in her 70s. They enjoyed many years together at their cabin at Lake Metigoshe.

She is survived by: one son, Donavon Jundt, and his wife, Debbie, of Fargo; daughters, DeMaris, and her husband, Loren Johnson, of Bottineau, Lori, and her husband, Marvin Burckhard, of Minot, and Jenelle, and her husband, Wayne Boechler, of Traverse City, Mich.; son-in-law, Robert McGuire, of Bottineau; 12 grandchildren, Jason Jundt, Jeffery Jundt, Ryan (Cheyenne) Jundt, Michael (DeeAnne) McGuire, Chad McGuire, Troy Johnson, Toni (Tom) Herman, Shannon (Sarah) Burckhard, Kyle (Melissa) Burckhard, Jennifer (Matt) McCartney, Jayme Boechler and Jodi Boechler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Chester and Jerome Christenson.

Arrangements are with Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Friends may sign the online register book at (www.nerofuneralhome.net).

Memorials are preferred to the Bottineau Good Samaritan Center and St. Andrew's Hospital in Bottineau.
