Pamela "Pam" Hodnefield, 56, Minot, formerly of Williston, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, in a Rochester, Minn., hospital.
Pam was born June 20, 1957, the daughter of Harlan "Bud" and Lola Mootz, in Grand Forks. Pam was reared and educated in Williston. She earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, in 1979.
Pam was united in marriage to Daryl Hodnefield on July 14, 1979, in Williston. She always said she married her best friend. The couple had two children, Jade and Lyndsey, who were the love of her life. Pam was an elementary school teacher for 33 years, touching the lives of many students. During the last few years, she enjoyed visiting and doing crafts with friends. Pam will be remembered for her caring heart, her wonderful sense of humor, and her love of family and friends.
Survivors: husband, Daryl, Minot; children, Jade Hodnefield, Fargo, Lyndsey (Eric) Hoffer, Minot; mother, Lola Mootz, Williston; sisters, Kim (Steve) Johnston, Lake Jackson, Texas, and Monica (Ken) Moore, Richardton; brother, Hal Mootz, Williston; nieces and nephews, Levi (Janelle) Allard, Williston, Chantel (Eli) Puckett, Hazen, Amanda (Ken) Prentice, Williston, Jordyn (Garrett) Zent, Lefor, and Tiffany (Matt) Hauptman, Danville, Iowa; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Janice (Greg) Wilson, Rochester, Carol (John) Seymour, Danville and Jon (Gisela) Hodnefield, Dickinson.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harlan "Bud" Mootz and infant daughter, Kara Hodnefield.
Funeral service: Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at 11 a.m., at Bethany Lutheran Church, 215-3rd Ave. SE, Minot.
Visitation: Thursday, Oct. 3, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Bethany Lutheran Church.
Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
