Thomas L. Aoyama, age 4, Minot, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, in a Minot hospital.
Thomas Lee Aoyama was born on Aug. 25, 2009, a son of Isaac and Rhoda (Pastorpede) Hocker in Towanda City, Aomori, Japan. He moved with his family to North Dakota, where he was involved with the Early Childhood Development program at Perkett Elementary School and currently at Lewis and Clark Public School.
Thomas enjoyed playing with toys, especially Thomas the Train and spending time with his brother AJ was also fun times for him. Tommy had a contagious smile that would brighten any room, and was a very intelligent and active little boy. He could spin cookies with his wheelchair, and made everyone feel better about themselves.
Thomas is survived by: mother, Rhoda Hocker, Minot; father, Isaac Hocker, Minot; brother, Aaron Hocker; maternal grandparents, Lina Pastorpede and Nonito Pastorpede; paternal grandparents, Patricia Pulliam, Ricky W. Hocker, Robyn Hocker, Abby, Bianca and Isaac; great-grandparents, Blaze Pastorpede and Elma Delos Reyes; half brother, Hiddki; uncles, Andrew Hocker and Mark Rush.
Thomas was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Ernesto Delos Reyes;
Funeral Service: Wednesday, Oct. 2, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.
Burial: A private family burial will take place at a later date.
Visitation: Tuesday, Oct. 1, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.
