A St. Thomas woman died as a result of a head-on crash Friday night in McKenzie County.
She was a passenger in a 2000 Oldsmobile Silhouette that collided head-on with a 2004 Hummer H2 that was trying to pass another car on U.S. Highway 23 and entered the westbound lane as it was doing so, colliding with the Oldsmobile at mile marker 29, according to a press release issued by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The man driving the Oldsmobile was injured and was taken to McKenzie County Hospital for treatment. The male driver of the 2004 Hummer H2 SUV, from New Town, was not injured. The crash happened at 8:56 p.m. Friday.
Both drivers and the passenger were wearing their seat belts.
