Robert "Bob" Carl Hedahl passed away peacefully at his home in Marysville, Wash., Sept. 5, 2013, at the age of 88.
He was born Feb. 19, 1925, in Minot, to Austin Ole and Ida (Garbe) Hedahl. He married Thelma "Tommie" Mae Clauson in 1952 and raised three sons in Velva. The family moved to Washington in 1966, where they settled in the Kenmore area and Bob started working at Boeing as a paint technician. He retired in 1990 and built a home in Oak Harbor, Wash. After his wife passed away in 1996, Bob moved to the Snohomish County area, where he pursued his hobby of picture painting. Bob loved to celebrate his Norwegian heritage at Christmas by baking traditional cookies and was an expert lefse maker.
Bob was a true warrior, successfully battling many injuries and illnesses throughout his life. Next to his family, he was most proud of his service to our country in the 33rd Infantry of the Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Tommie; son, Eric Everet Hedahl; and brother, Everet Austin Hedahl.
He is survived by: his sister, Marion Ruth Mosvick; his son, Ronald Robert Hedahl (Adria); grandsons, Austin and Blake; and son, James Jay Hedahl (Juan Ricardes).
Bob will be deeply missed by many family and friends.
A private memorial service is planned.
