Agnes Krenzel, 93, Harvey, formerly of Esmond, died Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at the St. Aloisius Hospital in Harvey.
Agnes was born May 29, 1920, near Selz. She was the daughter of Cornelius and Marie (Braunagel) Axtman. Agnes grew up and attended school in the Selz area. She married Leo Krenzel on Oct. 16, 1939, at Selz. They lived and farmed south of Esmond. They moved to Eugene, Ore., in 1967. She worked for 10 years in a cannery. In 1978 they returned to Esmond. Leo died July 10, 1997. Agnes continued to live in Esmond until moving to Harvey on Sept. 11, 2001.
Agnes was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, its Altar Society and Christian Mothers, all of Esmond.
Agnes is survived by: four daughters, Bernadine (Ricky) Stiegelmeier of League City, Texas, Madonna (Frank Jr.) Vetter, of Eugene, Leona (Daniel) Peterson, of Vancover, Wash., Linda (Gordy) Kribs, of Tigard, Ore.; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Agnes was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Leo; two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey, with burial in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, Esmond.
Visitation will be today, Monday, from 2 to 7 p.m., at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, with prayer services today, Monday, 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
