WINNIPEG, Manitoba - The Minot State University men's basketball team finished 2-1 in its three-game exhibition swing in Canada.
The Beavers beat Brandon University on Friday to open the trip. MSU beat the University of Winnipeg 86-78 on Saturday and fell to Winnipeg 68-46 on Sunday.
NCAA teams are allowed a foreign tour once every four years. The trips include exhibition play.
"This trip was a great opportunity for us to gain valuable playing time for every player in our program," MSU coach Matt Murken said. "We competed against two teams that played very hard. Overall, it was a nice jumpstart to our season."
Senior guard Chris East and senior forward Samuel Johnson 17 points apiece in Saturday's win. East hauled in nine rebounds and Johnson added seven. Junior forward Lazar Boskovic recorded 15 points and 17 rebounds in Sunday's loss.
