Richard Pardon, Minot
I must be missing something! One week the Minot City Council votes down a Walmart expansion project, which was going to create 300 new jobs at their own expense, and the next week the City Council votes to give some unproven pipe manufacturing company $800,000 to create maybe 20 jobs.
Folks, what am I missing? For $800,000 the city could hire six new badly needed police officers, buy three new patrol cars, and have money left over. Anybody have a better plan? As we certainly don't need any more MAGIC Fund job development projects in the city or area.
City Council, have you tried to hire any new employees lately?
