Albertine Lorraine (Trones) Almer was born June 17, 1931, to Albert and True Edna (Thorne) Trones. She spent her early childhood growing up in Tuttle and then moved to Black River Falls, Wis. They married March 17, 1947, in Steele. They were married for 66 wonderful years and were blessed with six beautiful children.

Albertine enjoyed golfing, going to 4 Bears Casino, daily drives to the farm, cooking during spring planting and harvest. She was an excellent cook. Her specialties were fried chicken and homemade bread. She also enjoyed gardening and growing spring flowers. She loved playing cards and Yahtzee with her family. One of her favorite activities was having her grandchildren spend the night when they were young. Merle's T-shirts were always the children's pajamas when they stayed. She could play any musical instrument by ear and her favorite was the harmonica.

Albertine was the secretary for Almer's Construction when they began their business in the early '70s.
