Bishop B. Holsinger, 17, Velva, died Friday, July 5, 2013, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident near Velva.
Bishop Bryant Holsinger was born on Aug. 7, 1995, a son of Jeffery S. Holsinger and Kimberly Ann Pahl, at the Minot Air Force Base, Minot. He attended elementary and junior high school in Elk River, Minn., and graduated from Velva High School on May 26, 2013. He had a lifelong goal of becoming an electrician, and was registered to begin in August as an apprentice electrician.
Bishop was very active in his high school years in Velva. He enjoyed playing football, cross-country, track and wrestling. He was proud to consider himself a Velva Aggie. He also enjoyed hunting deer and pheasant, and fishing with his family and friends.
Bishop was a wonderful son, brother, grandson and friend. In an autobiography written by Bishop, he said he wants to be remembered for his personality, and for his uniqueness, and attributes these factors to his life experiences.
Bishop is survived by: parents, Kim and Kelly Massine, Velva, and Jeffery and Tessa Holsinger, Phoenix, Ariz.; sister, Rooklyn Holsinger, St. Cloud, Minn., brother, Levi Massine, Velva, and sister, Elizabeth Massine, Velva; grandparents, John and Nancy Pahl, Edgeley, Mike and Diana Massine, Minot, Ronald and Betty Holsinger, Cushing, Okla.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Bishop was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents.
Mass of Christian Burial: Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Velva.
Burial: Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Velva.
Visitation: There will be no reviewal; however, friends may sign a guest book on Tuesday, July 9, from 4 until 7 p.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Velva.
Vigil prayer service: Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the church.
