WILLISTON - Two bird dog trials were hosted by Williston's Badlands Bird Dog Club last month. The club assisted with a National Shoot to Retrieve trial May 11-12 and hosted their annual N.D. Gun Dog Championship May 18.
The NSTRA format provided for two flights of dogs in separate bird fields each of the two days. Entries included dogs from five states and one Canadian province. A field of 32 dogs participated in the Gun Dog Championship.
The Gun Dog Championship "A" field winner was "Jake," owned by Elden Miller of Williston. Field "B" was captured by "Dixie," owned by Everyl Hock of Williston. The run-off Top Gun Award was taken by "Dixie."
