DATES SET FOR VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL AT FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH First Baptist Church, of Minot, will host "SonWest Roundup," a vacation Bible school, June 17 to June 21 from 8:45 a.m. to noon, in the church at 200-3rd St. SW.
The sessions, for children in kindergarten through sixth grade, will include music, skits, crafts, games, Bible stories and snacks.

CHRISTIAN WOMEN'S CLUB TO MEET JUNE 11 Minot Christian Women's Club will meet for their monthly luncheon meeting June 11 from 12:15 to 2 p.m. in the Grand Hotel, Minot. The cost is $10, inclusive.
Don and Marlene Holrup, of Winston-Salem, N.C., will perform musical selections and Mona Bean, of Backus, Minn., will be the guest speaker. Her topic will be "Walking a New Road."

WINNERS ANNOUNCED FOR CATHOLIC DAUGHTERS ANNUAL CONTEST Students from Bishop Ryan Catholic School and some adults participated in the recent Catholic Daughters of the Americas nationwide educational contest. The contest is held yearly.
The students were provided two themes to choose from. The themes were "My life is a reflection of God" and "Jesus is a reflection in me." The contest included computer art, art, poetry, essay and photography. There was also a division for adult participation. The entries were judged by Court St. Elizabeth, #170 and the state Catholic Daughters judges.
The winners in the contest were:
Poetry: Division I: 1st, Maya Wald, Grade 5, 2nd, Kacie Klein, grade 4, and 3rd, Sevanah Brintnell, grade 4. Division II: 1st, Madison Lee, grade 6, 2nd, Eden Kramer, grade 7 and 3rd, Emma Garber, grade 8. Division III: 1st, Casy Charley, grade 9, 2nd (tie), Isaac Niess, grade 10 and Eli Kramer, grade 9 and 3rd (tie), Anna Petz and Abby Howard, both grade 10.

Division II: 1st, Chinaza Udekwe, grade 6, 2nd (tie), Kaleb Beeter, grade 6 and Mark Medalen, grade 8, 3rd (tie), Evelyn Brady and Cole Dauphinais, both grade 8. Monetary prize awards were given to the winners on the local and state level. The first-place winners at the local level advance to the state level and winners at the state level progress to the national level of competition.
