PUEBLO, Colo. - Minot State University pole vaulter Abbey Aide's record junior season ended with a 15th-place finish at the NCAA Division II Championships at Colorado State University at Pueblo on Thursday.
As the school's first national qualifier at the NCAA level, Aide cleared 12 feet, 1.5 inches, but was unable to clear her second height of 12-5.5.
"I'm disappointed that I didn't make 12 feet, five inches," Aide said in a press release. "It's not how I wanted this to end, but it was a great experience being here. I feel so privileged to be able to compete with these girls; they are really unbelievable athletes."
Katie Nageotte of Ashland University (Ohio) won the event with a mark of 14-5.25.
Aide holds MSU's record at 12-6.5. She set the record twice this season.
Aide has a season of eligibility remaining but is finished competing collegiately. She plans to transfer to the University of North Dakota to finish her degree, according to MSU sports information.
