Priscilla "Peg" Nelson, 78, of Fort Dodge, Iowa, formerly of Minot, passed away Friday, May 3, 2013, at the Tompkins Memorial Health Center in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 10, at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel in Fort Dodge. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 9, at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge.
Peg is survived by: her husband, James; three sons, James P. (Lizann) Nelson and Jay Nelson, both of Milwaukee, Wis., and Jeff (Kathy) Nelson, of Fort Dodge; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Patricia Sjaastad; and a brother, William Stevick.
Priscilla "Peg" Stevick, the daughter of William and Harriette (McAlmond) Stevick, was born July 23, 1934, in Minot, N.D., and graduated from the Minot High School.
On Dec. 20, 1955, Peg married James L. Nelson in Minot. After their marriage the couple lived in Menomonie, Wis., later moving to Fort Atkinson, Wis., and in 1969, the family moved to Fort Dodge. Peg had various part-time jobs while they lived in Fort Dodge but she loved being a wife and mother to her family. In 2009, her husband moved to Friendship Haven and Peg continued to live at home until the end of April of this year when she moved to the Tompkins Memorial Health Center in Fort Dodge.
