The Minot State University softball team is ranked seventh in the first NCAA Division II Central Region Poll, which was released Wednesday.
The Beavers (26-5 overall, 8-4 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) sit behind three other NSIC schools - Minnesota State-Mankato (3), Winona State (5) and Augustana (6).
Eight teams qualify for the Central Region tournament May 10-12. The winners of the NSIC and Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association tournaments automatically advance, and the other six spots are awarded to the top remaining at-large teams.
MSU plays a doubleheader against Minnesota State-Moorhead (2-29, 0-16) beginning today at 11 a.m. in St. Cloud, Minn.
