Beverly Rugland, 82, Palermo, died Sunday, March 18, 2013, upon arrival at a Minot hospital. Her funeral service will be Saturday, March 23, 2013, at 11 a.m., in Faith Lutheran Church, Palermo. Burial will be at Faith Lutheran Cemetery, Palermo. Visitation is today, March 22, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Springan Funeral Home, Stanley.

Beverly Ruth Ball was born Jan. 19, 1931, to Esther (Anderson) and George Ball, in Clearwater Township, rural Palermo. She attended Clearwater rural school and graduated from Stanley High School in 1949. She attended Minot State Teachers College and taught at Burke Township country school.

Beverly married Gordon Rugland on Aug. 2, 1953, in Stanley. They began farming in 1955 in Clearwater Township. They moved to their Idaho Township farm in 1959. She worked at the Stanley hospital for more than 25 years as a nurses' aide.

She was a longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid and Charity Circle. Beverly was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the hospital auxiliary, the Golden Age Club Senior Citizens and the Northside Sewing Club. Bev and Gordon enjoyed spending 15 winters in Arizona and more recently in Florida.

Beverly is survived by: her husband, Gordon; children, Vonee (Matt) Pawlowski, Cullowshee, N.C., Geri (Glenn) Finks, LaBelle, Fla., and Greg Rugland, Minot; brother, Earl (Bea) Ball, Birch Bay, Wash.; grandchildren, Jared (Melissa) Finks, LaBelle, Fla., Joanna (Rob) Chapman, Tampa, Fla., Casey Rugland and Erin Rugland, both of Chandler, Ariz., and Tom Pawlowski, Cullowhee, N.C.; great-grandchild, Porter Finks, LaBelle, Fla.; brother-in-law, Kenneth Rugland; sister-in-law, Bernice Stoland; and nieces and nephews.

Her parents and brothers, Robert and Donald, preceded her in death.
