NEW TOWN (AP) - The North Dakota Transportation Department has scheduled a public hearing in New Town on a proposed truck bypass.
The bypass would route oil field truck traffic around the city, relieving traffic congestion on state Highway 23 through the city. A two-lane road would be constructed northeast of New Town connecting Highway 23 with state Highway 1804.
The state-funded project would cost between $11 million and $19 million, depending on the exact route.
The hearing is 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the New Town Civic Center Auditorium.
