Lewelyn Walters, 68, Carlton, Ore., formerly of the Max-Minot area, died Monday, March 11, 2013, at Trinity Mission Health and Rehab in Portland, Ore.
He was born Jan. 2, 1945, to Luther and Bernice Walters, in Minot, and grew up in Max. He married Jacqueline Nelson in Benedict. He served in the Army infantry, including combat in Vietnam in 1966 and 1967. He was discharged in 1978.
Survivors: wife; sons, Artie Walters and Dean Walters, both of Carlton, Ore.; three grandchildren; and sister, Darlene Schnaible, Burlington.
Visitation was Saturday at Crown Memorial Center, Tualatin, Ore. A memorial gathering followed in Zion Lutheran Church, Newberg, Ore.
