John Frykman

John August Frykman, 67, Bottineau, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, in a Walnut Creek, Calif., hospital.

He was born June 6, 1945, in Bottineau, the youngest child of Carl and Lenora Frykman. He graduated from Bottineau High School in 1963. John served from 1965-1969 in the United States Navy aboard the Destroyer USS Turner Joy. Upon his discharge from the Navy he worked for the family-owned Ford dealership in Bottineau for 27 years and later at Bill Nichol's Ford and Neameyer Body Shop, both of Rolla.

John is survived by: his wife, Pat, Bottineau; daughters, Trich Overbo, Pleasant Hill, Calif., and Lindsey (Matt) Seykora, Bottineau; and three grandchildren, Naomi, Clint and Kate, all Bottineau; sister, Gayle Vick, Minot; brother, James, of Kent, Ohio.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Paul; and daughter, Jana Overbo.

A celebration of John's life will be held in Metigoshe Lutheran Church, Bottineau, later this summer.
