Roland ‘Rolly’ Barquest

Roland W. "Rolly" Barquest, 75, passed away in his sleep on March 3, 2013, in his home in Bullhead City, Ariz.

Rolly was born July 6, 1937, to Webster and Helen Barquest, in Minot. He graduated from Minot High School in 1955 and married Mary Lou Arnott on July 2, 1955. They had three children: Mark, Richard and Tracy. Mary passed away in 1987.

Rolly's career was with the railroad; he began work for the Great Northern Railway and transferred to Burlington Northern Railway in Ballard, Wash.

In 1988 Rolly met and married Ruby Hammer. Together they traveled the United States in their RV and made their home in the Southwest. Rolly loved to bowl, even throwing two 300 games.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary; brother, Neal; sons, Mark (Tarilyn) and Richard (Karen); son-in-law, Jim Crowder; and great-grandson, Aden.

He is survived by: his wife, Ruby; his daughter, Tracy McMillan, of Everett, Wash.; stepdaughters, Kim (Jim) Lykken, Yakima, Wash., and Tonda (Mike) LaKous, Renton, Wash.; aunt, Lucille (Aunty Babe) Parker, Minot; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Rolly will be laid to rest in Lynnwood, Wash.

Services are being planned for March 16, 2013.
