Minot is back in the state basketball tournament business.
The State Class B Boys Basketball Tournament opens today at the Minot State University Dome, with games scheduled today,?Friday and Saturday. We welcome players, coaches and fans from Rugby,?Cavalier, Dickinson Trinity, LaMoure-Litchville-Marion, Milnor, Shiloh Christian, Trenton and Four Winds-Minnewaukan. For more information on the tournament, check out our special section inside today's newspaper.
Nearly two years after the Souris River swept through the city, Minot remains in the midst of recovery. There is still much work to be done as residents return to their repaired homes and businesses, and the city works to repair damaged infrastructure. But hosting another state basketball tournament helps let the rest of North Dakota know that life is slowly but surely returning to normal in Minot.
Thanks to the continuing new construction, there are new restaurants and stores in town, and the city boasts plenty of hotel rooms to accommodate tournament visitors.
Welcome to Minot, Class B basketball fans and players. We know you'll enjoy your stay in The Magic City.
