This pair of bald eagles were engaged in tidying up of a nest located downstream from Garrison Dam this past Tuesday. Bald eagles make the largest tree-dwelling nests of any bird in North America, sometimes using up to a ton of material. Nesting pairs generally produce two or three eaglets. Bald eagles are a protected species. They feed primarily on fish which are available in the nearby Missouri River.
