Robert M. Anderson, Minot
Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., has publicly stated that she would confiscate all private firearms if she could. The present bill that she and other anti-gun members of Congress are pushing is just the first step in the plan to totally disarm us.
Once it is illegal to transfer firearms between family members as proposed in the present bill, then universal gun registration will be necessary to keep track and enforce the law. Once all guns are registered, they will know where they are for confiscation. Except, of course, criminals don't register their guns.
The present administration armed the Mexican drug cartels with semi-automatic assault weapons under the "Fast and Furious" operation. Now they want to disarm us and leave us defenseless.
The present administration refuses to secure our borders and is suing state officials trying to enforce immigration laws. We need at least as good weapons to defend ourselves as the government furnished to the criminal invaders.
If the currently proposed law is passed, it will be followed by more and more restrictive laws until we are totally disarmed.
Please ask your congressional representatives to vote against this bill and any others that would restrict our Second Amendment rights.
