MOHALL Leo Fredrick McCrory, 86, Mohall, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at his home.

Leo was born Feb. 16, 1927, to James and Frances (Krzebetkowski) McCrory, at the family home in Hamerly Township, Renville County, North Dakota. He was baptized and received First Communion at St. James Catholic Church, Sherwood. He joined the Lutheran Church in 1947.

Leo attended the rural Mullins School for six years and received his eighth grade diploma from the Armstrong School in 1942.

Leo was united in marriage to Dorothy Stanley on April 19, 1945, in Plentywood, Mont. Four children were born to this union: Loretta, Timothy, Joan and Nancy. George Paris joined the family in 1969, after the death of his mother.

The family lived in the Sherwood/Mohall area and Leo worked at various jobs. In 1954, the family moved to the Mohall Creamery Farm near Mohall where they raised pigs, sheep, cattle and thousands of turkeys. Leo also picked up cream from farmers. In 1965, Leo began his job of delivering bulk propane. The company changed from Vig Oil to Westland Oil, to Nordmark Propane Service, to Sunbeam Oil, to Flying J Propane, to Behm's Propane, to Vision Energy and then to Ferrell Gas. In the fall of 2002, Leo retired from truck driving after 37 years of service. Leo drove a school bus and worked for Dean Schoenberg on his farm when needed.

In his lifetime, Leo enjoyed visiting with many friends, bowling, hunting and teasing his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Family: Leo is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy McCrory, Mohall; daughters, Loretta (Donald) Streifel, Washburn, Joan (Gary) Mortensen, Bottineau, Nancy (Jon) May, Mohall; sons, Timothy (Marcia) McCrory, Bernardston, Mass., and George (Connie) Paris, Moscow, Idaho; grandchildren, Judy, Tom, Mark, Steven and Katie; James and Glenn; Brian, David and Krista; Leo, George, Tamra and Angela; and Blake; six stepgrandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 15 stepgreat-grandchildren.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and spouses, Frank and Hazel, James and Laura, Adam, Leonard and Margaret, Daniel and Imogene, and Arthur and Helen; sisters and spouses, Kathryn and George Eckert, Agnes and Ed Beck, and Vivian and Arnold Engh.

Memorial Service: Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., at Zion Lutheran Church, Mohall.

Family Service: Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at 7 p.m., at the church.

Visitation: Friends may sign the guestbook Tuesday, noon to 3 p.m., at Brose Funeral Home, Mohall.
