Carole E. Booth

Carole E. Booth, 84, formerly of Minot and Velva, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at her residence in Kerrville, Texas.

Carole was born June 10, 1928, the daughter of Harry and Inga (Teigen) Severson, in Berwick. She was raised and educated in Sawyer, moved to California with her family during World War II, spent time with her grandparents in Seymour, Wis., and returned to graduate from Sawyer High School.

Carole was united in marriage to Cecil V. Booth on Nov. 4, 1946. They made their home in Minot until 1960 when they moved to their farm near Velva. During retirement, Cecil and Carole traveled in their RV visiting their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in Texas and Wisconsin.

Carole was an active member of Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva, where she taught Sunday school. She was a member of the Republican Women and served on the Velva School Board. She had a lifelong love of books and more recently her Kindle. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was very fond of her lifelong friends and their families.

Those who shared her life: son, Ken (Clair) Booth, Kerrville, Texas; daughter, Karen (Jayme) Anderson, Poynette, Wis.; five grandchildren, Sandy (Jay) Haman, Natalie (Travis) Booth, Symmantha Booth, Tyler (Amber) Anderson and Molly Anderson; four great-grandchildren, Kyle Haman, Katie Haman, Wyatt Anderson and Stella Anderson; sisters, Joyce (Dallas) Barker, Eunice (Herman) Vix and Darlene (Ward) Bunker.

Carole was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil V. Booth; her parents; her sister, Helen; and brother, Quentin.

Family visitation: Sunday, Feb. 17, from 1 to 3 p.m., at Grimes Funeral Chapels, Kerrville.

Private burial: Will take place at a later time at the Velva Cemetery, Velva.

Memorials: Preferred to Oak Valley Lutheran Church or an organization of the donor's choice.
