Irene Stromme, 75, Minot, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle accident near Rolette.

Irene Ida Gange was born Dec. 23, 1937, in Drake. She was the youngest of 13 children, born to Benjamin and Anna (Miltenberger) Gange. She was raised in Drake and attended a country school in the area.

Irene married Lewis E. Stromme on Aug. 23, 1959, in Minot. They made their home in Minot until 1960, when they moved to Denver. In 1965, they moved to Drake and in 1969 they moved to Minot. Irene was employed at various businesses in Minot, but most recently was employed at Edgewood Vista as an activities assistant. She retired in the late 2000s.

She was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Eagles Aerie Auxiliary, all of Minot.

She enjoyed baking, cooking, bird watching and feeding, and her flower garden. She especially enjoyed spending time at the lake, fishing and boating.

Surviving family includes: husband of 53 years, Lewis, Minot; children, Kim Block, Minot, Guy Stromme, Minot, Vicki (Nicholas) Serna, Temecula, Calif., and Jason Stromme, Reno, Nev; grandchildren, Kyle, Shawn, Nicholas, Andrew, Eric, Amanda and Kylie; great-grandson, Gage Block; brothers, Matthew Gange, North Carolina, and Adam Gange, Drake; sisters, Betty Heib, Minot, and Mary Seimers, Fargo; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Irene was preceded in death by: her parents; brothers, Anthony, Louie, John, Pete, Jack and Lawrence Gange; and sisters, Frances Vogel and Theresa Heer.

Mass of Christian Burial: Monday, Feb. 18, 10:30 a.m., at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.

Visitation: Sunday, from noon to 5 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Vigil Prayer Service: Sunday, 5 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
