January 17, 2013
Minot Daily News

WILLISTON - Minot State University sophomore Mitch Peeke scored with two minutes, 25 seconds remaining in overtime Wednesday to give the Beavers a 3-2 win over Williston State College.

MSU (17-5) got on the board less than four minutes into the game when Garrett Ferguson found the net off an assist from Logan Herauf.

But WSC took a 2-1 lead into the third period after Dwight Lee and Colby Spoonemore tallied back-to-back goals for the Tetons (13-9).

MSU's Dan Lamb scored with 7:21 left in the third to force overtime.

"We didn't play very well for the first 50 minutes but our guys dug deep and wanted this one for the last 10 minutes," MSU coach Wade Regier said in a press release. "We had a couple guys completely step up their game at the end and it was the difference. Williston State has a great team and pushed us to the limit."

Riley Hengen tallied 28 saves for MSU, and Tyler Ampe and Corey McMahon combined for 36 stops for the Tetons.

The Beavers travel to North Dakota State University this weekend, and WSC hosts Dakota College at Bottineau on Jan. 23.
