Helen A. Anseth, age 86, of Crosby, and formerly of Noonan, passed away on Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at Trinity Hospital in Minot.
Helen A. Anseth was born Nov. 14, 1926, the daughter of Evan and Nettie (Opperud) Ulledal, on the family farm. She was raised and educated in the Appam area. She was united in marriage to Herbert Anseth on May 29, 1946, in Plentywood, Mont. They made their home in Appam until 1950 when they moved to Noonan.
Helen taught grade school for two years and worked at Melby's Cafe, Noonan Good Samaritan, babysitting, driving school bus, the Moose Lodge and cooking for Kiwanis. She loved to bake, fish, garden, a good game of cards and quilting. Most of her grandkids and great-grandkids had their first cup (saucer) of coffee with at least three lumps of sugar with Grandma Helen.
Helen is survived by: sons, Herbert Jr. (Jane), Robert (Cheryl), daughters, Judy (Joel) Tveter, Roxy Corey, Paula (Patrick) O'Hair, Stephanie (Mark) Trafford; 13 grandkids, Laura (Dan), Tim (Jackie), Steven (Lisa), Kristi (Mike), Tara (Matt), Mike (Joan), Kelly, Jana, Scott (Britney), Matthew, Stacy (Justin), Kyle and Caden; 16 great-grandkids; her sister, Gloria Marcy; a sister-in-law, Kay Ulledahl; and many nieces and nephews.
Helen was preceded in death by: her husband, Herbert; parents; daughter, Annette; grandson, Dean; and sons-in-law, Tim Gardner and Bud Corey; brother, Joseph Ulledahl; and sisters, Ina Swenson, Eleanor Amundson, Verna Hallgren, Fern Bleken, Mavis Johnson; and sibling infant twins.
A private family burial took place on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at Concordia Lutheran Cemetery in Crosby.
